Dr. Melissa Almarales

Dr. Melissa Almarales is a Columbus native! She has served our community since graduating from the IU School of Optometry in 2005. She is the owner, CEO, and optometrist at The Eye Place – where our focus is you.

Her focus is on family practice optometry with an emphasis on contact lenses, pediatrics, and ocular disease. She enjoys seeing children, “tough-to-fit” contact lens candidates, and treating many types of eye diseases. She is board certified to diagnose, manage, and treat diseases of the eye using pharmacological and therapeutic agents.”

Dr. Almarales is very active in Columbus, participating in various community and business organizations. Early in her career she was very involved with the creation of Columbus Young Professionals and in 2008 won the Columbus Indiana Amazing Race! She has a very adventurous spirit that leads her to travel in exotic places throughout the year. This year she will be providing free eye care in the country of Haiti and on the island of Molokai, Hawaii.

She is very passionate about her work and feels passionate about seeing people for a lifetime and keeping them seeing for a lifetime!
